The BCI is a research programme investigating the biological cost of operating at scale, the extraction of human physiology by institutional systems, and the instruments needed to make biological capital visible and measurable.
The person and the business treated as one system. Because they are. The biological state of the person running the business shapes every layer above it. This is the model that makes that relationship visible and workable.
The model applies to an individual navigating complexity and to an organisation operating at scale. The pattern is the same at every level.
The Karta is the structural load-bearer of a system. The one who carries the complexity. In physics, stress is force divided by area. Increase the force without widening the area and the structure fails. The SSA model translates that physical intuition into a measurable biological equation.
The physics here is conceptual framing, not a scientific extension of the published SSA model. The SSA model is its own instrument. The physics is the analogy that made it legible.
Pilot study. n=17. India-based founders and senior operators. Every subscale above 46%. No dimension at rest.
The BCI investigates five areas: the biological cost of scale as an undisclosed enterprise liability, the extraction of human physiology by institutional systems, the silent default mechanism in founders and operators, biological capital as a measurable and reportable asset class, and the instruments needed to make it visible.
We publish our work on the Open Science Framework. Open access.
The BCI sits at the intersection of organisational behaviour, physiological science, and business design. Every paper, instrument, and application in the stack corresponds to a layer of the BBD model. The research programme builds out from the theoretical framework toward measurable, applicable instruments.
The published research is the formal record. The essays are where the thinking becomes readable. Each essay in the two Substack series corresponds to a layer of the BBD model or a paper in the BCI stack.
The website is the canonical home for all essays. The same content distributes to Substack, LinkedIn, and short-form video.
All essays and articles SubstackIf you are a researcher, faculty member, policy professional, or institutional partner working in adjacent territory, we are interested in conversations that advance the work. Co-authorship, research collaboration, policy application, and institutional partnerships are all possibilities.
